Scenic Sunday

Scenic Sunday

We traveled a lot this week and bless people and children alike. We had parties here and there and gave gifts to the children especially the needy. We had a great time with them. And while traveling I took some pictures because the highway is so nice, wide and cool. It took us 2 hours or more to travel from our city to the villages and schools. We love to bless people and visit them too.

Word-Filled Wednesday

It's Watery Wednesday once again, time runs so fast, right? Anyway, this is my post for today's meme.

More Watery Wednesday posts here.

Online Auctions

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Bidazzled. All opinions are 100% mine.

Online auctions are available everywhere in the net. It's just a click away. Today while I was surfing I saw this Bidazzled site. I checked it out and I have seen a lot of benefits they offer. It is commonly known as Pay-Per-Bid auction site, bids are just purchased in advance. The price increases a few cents with each bid placed and a few seconds are added to the countdown clock to give others a chance to bid. This is one thing I like: The auction ends when no other bids are placed, for example; if a new laptop ends at just a dollar, then you win the laptop for a dollar. That sounds great, right?

Another thing that attracts me about Bidazzled is that this site is designed and created to help fund a lung cancer charity like "The Ruch Foundation". You can visit the ruch foundation.com for more details. In the Phil. there were a lot of cases about lung cancer and just recently, a friend of ours died due to lung cancer. I'm glad that this site helps the lung cancer victims.

Some of the highlights:
Auction winners usually save over 80% off retail
Nobody Loses
If you will not win,
you will receive up to 50 Bonus Bids to thank you for participating
You can purchase the auction item less the investment you had in the auction
If you win,
Bidazzled typically make an offer to buy the item back for either:
cash (paypal or check), cash or bids

They really provide a lot of options and that makes a difference. There were already winners in their first month in just 5 free bids.

This is an Exclusive Offer, 15 additional bids will be provided if you use this code until 15th of January, just enter in the registration page and it's absolutely free. Another news is that bids only cost a dollar ($1) here at Bidazzled, you will also receive bonus bids when you purchase a big pack. That sounds interesting right? So what are you waiting for? Why not give a try and see for yourself. You can bless the lung cancer victims at the same time.

Yummy Sunday

Do you think this is yummy? Last month we had a chance to roam around and buy some some plants in a bucket because we don't have space for our plants except for those in pots. I was so glad to see this kalamansi. For Thai people it's only an ornamental plant. They thought it's poisonous, whaaahhh! Nobody dares to get and drink the juice of this kind of fruit. We bought the smaller pot and my kiddos enjoyed drinking the juice. It has a lot of vitamin c and very healthy.

Eating Fruits ...

upload pictures

I love to eat red apples and other red fruits. I also love to eat red potatoes. I just wonder my kiddos didn't like apples so much, it's weird but I need to force them to eat. One of my dreams is to pick up some apples fresh from the tree, lol! It's kind of nice feeling I guess, if I go up to the tree and get some and eat, lol!

Apples have a lot of nutrients given if we take it. It sustains and keeps us going. I remember one time when I was still studying and taking my Bachelor's Degree. One of teachers told us that he was eating apple early in the morning to make his breath cool and to strengthen his teeth. He was so conscious about health and his body. And that's true, eating apples, tomatoes and other fruits make our skin healthy and makes us on the go.

Yummy Sunday

When we came to Thailand, we were teased by some friends of this exotic delicacy - that we need to try. These are crispy grubs Thai food. My teenager and hubby tried because they were curious and they said, it's saucy and crispy. They like to try some but AJ was crying while seeing the beauty of that crispy thing. I didn't try either. Wanna try some?

What to eat more or less???

There are certain that helps inflammation while there are others that lowers inflammation according to the news I've read just recently. Here's the news...

Food that lowers inflammation

Food that helps inflammation

Certain foods reduce inflammation, while others raise it. What to eat and what to avoid?

Inflammation, normally part of a healthy immune response, is increasingly thought to play a leading role in encouraging a number of major killers, including cancer, diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and Alzheimer's. Dangerous chronic inflammation occurs when the immune system stays turned on and starts attacking healthy cells and tissues-triggering, for example, cancer-causing genetic mutations or the bursting of artery plaque. What you eat, though, helps determine how much inflammation you produce. Certain foods promote it, while others are inflammation-fighting superstars, says nutritionist and family physician Ann Kulze, author of Dr. Ann's 10-Step Diet. Some recommendations:

Try to eat more...

Omega-3 fats. These are among the most potent anti-inflammatory foods. Best sources: fatty fish like salmon and tuna; walnuts and other nuts; flax seed; and canola oil.

Colorful produce. Red onions, tomatoes, broccoli, red grapes, berries, and oranges all are packed with chemicals called flavonoids that have anti-inflammatory properties.

Herbs and spices. Ginger and turmeric, either dried or fresh, are among the most healthful spices. For herbs, sprinkle on some fresh rosemary.

Chocolate and wine. Red wine has anti-inflammatory chemicals like resveratrol. Dark chocolate-look for 70 percent or higher cacao-protects against inflammation, and research suggests that hot cocoa does too.

Eat less on...

Omega-6 fats. They trigger the body to produce pro-inflammatory chemicals. Oils rich in omega-6 fats include corn, safflower, and vegetable oils; mayonnaise; and many salad dressings.

Trans fats. They're disappearing from packaged foods as more and more research shows they drive inflammation. And now they're on nutrition labels, so they're easier to avoid.

Rancid fats. Don't heat oil to the point that it's smoking, since that oxidizes fats and turns them into inflammation boosters. Also, avoid old peanut butter and that chocolate bar stashed away for years in your pantry.

White starches. Flour, sugar, white rice, and instant mashed potatoes, for example, all cause quick spikes in blood sugar levels, causing the production of advanced glycation end products that spur inflammation.

Animal fats. Foods high in this fat-egg yolks, red meat, poultry skin, whole-milk dairy products-also contain high amounts of arachidonic acid, a molecule used by the body to create inflammation.

Excess alcohol. Avoid drinking more than one or two alcoholic beverages a day; too much alcohol can cause changes in the intestinal lining, allowing bacteria to pass through into the bloodstream, triggering inflammation.

Hope you enjoy reading this post. I've read it from the yahoo news and shared it with you. We need to be careful of the food we eat for our own benefit. Happy weekend everyone!

Aloha Friday

It's my first time to join here. I get excited to post because Christmas starts to knock on our doors. It's fast approaching and it can't be stopped. It will really come. But what Christmas is all about? Anyway, I'm following the role here so here's my question:

Do you celebrate Christmas in your country?

Here in Thailand Christmas is not a big deal. It is not celebrated unless they are believers. On Christmas day everybody is busy going to school or for work. It's just a normal day for them. When I was teaching in the school before, I felt bored of going to school on Christmas day, I don't feel good but I don't have any choice.

Please visit An Island Life for more Aloha Friday posts.

Yummy Sunday - Sky Buffet

This month of November is a big month for us, why? Because we were invited to eat here in this Sky Buffet. It's located on the 33rd floor of Lee Garden's Plaza here in Thailand. You can see the city if you were in this place. It's an Eat-all-you can restaurant - from the main dish to the dessert, drinks like tea or coffee and ice cream as well. A lot of times I destroyed my diet because of this Sky Buffet. Anyhow, my family loved the place and we enjoyed eating a lot.

Try to visit Perfectly Blended too, she has a lot to share of different food around the world.

Fruits that We Love Most

Fruits are good for health. Every time I'm sick I ate a lot of it. We enjoyed buying kilos of fruits. You can get a lot of vitamins and minerals. Wanna try some? Fruits here in Thailand are quite cheap and fresh. So we enjoy every bit of it.

Word-Filled Wednesday

It's been raining hard for few days here in our place. Rivers were flooding and the dam upstream is on the verge of overflowing. People were scared and preparing for the flood to come. The government issued a flood warning and schools were closed. Praise God! The rain stopped yesterday and the water receded. Though the weather seems to be erratic, it's still a wonderful day.

In Job it says,

"For He draws up drops of water, which distill as rain from the mist, which the clouds drop down and pour abundantly on man.

Indeed , can anyone understand, the spreading of clouds, the thunder from His canopy?" Job 36: 27-29
.

God is still in control, He answers the prayer of His people. More posts with Susan.

Another Site to Earn while Blogging

I started blogging last December and I will be celebrating my first blogversary next month. Since then I was longing to earn while writing some posts. When I started blogging, I enjoyed every bit of it, my writing skill was developed and I enjoy posting and shared it to my friends here in the blogosphere. I'm glad I've found this site. It is known as LinkFromBlog for bloggers and advertisers as well. Since I'm a blogger I search for a site like this. It's good that I have found this one.

This site will give extra bonus or a gift if you join - that sounds good. The more friends you invite to join the more gifts you will receive. They provide something for bloggers to earn extra income while writing honest posts or even buy blog links they can provide for you. Try this out and share it to your friends too. A New Version of Payperpost

Blogging has been a part of me. Since I started it last year I kept on writing something that made me enjoy. Then I discovered many things while writing different posts. I learned to love writing anything under the sun. What I mean is that, I can write anything and makes me feel good. And through writing, I met many friends especially those who have Jesus in their hearts. I get more excited to know them.

I joined payperpost in summer but failed to get opportunities and besides, I was still groping in the dark of what to do and how to make posts and earn from it. Gradually, I have learned through the help of some friends here in the bloggimg world. And at last, I got an opportunity lately. My excitement continues when I received an email telling me that my post is approved. Wow, I can't tell you more how excited I was and I checked from time to time some available opportunities here at payperpost.

Yesterday, I received an email from this site that there will be some changes that will occur on Friday this week. They are going to emerge and become one site. The payperpost v3, payperpost v4, and socialspark will join together. This sounds great, many opportunities will be available I guess. Now, I'm getting more excited, lol!
